The Technology and Product Development organization is seeking an experienced software engineer to expand the existing development team. The main duties of this position will be to support software development through the full lifecycle systems design working closely with the systems and hardware engineering functions.

Experience

Required:

• Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through five or more years of related experience, three or more years with related Masters Degree.

Education:

Required:

• Bachelor degree with 5-9 years experience in engineering, or a related technical discipline.  

Optional:

• Masters degree with 3-7 years experience in engineering, or a related technical discipline

Knowledge, Skills and Job Responsibilities

 Technical

• Experience in electronic hardware and firmware design., typically with products related to air data and/or flight controls; familiarity with Assembly language programming; experience using Reqtify (or equivalent) and Microsoft VSS (or equivalent); experience using action item management systems, problem reporting systems and web-based tools
• Experienced in design and implementation of embedded software in C for aerospace applications including
  • 3+ years using Visual C/C++
  • 3+ years of OO experience
  • Familiarity using design patterns
  • 3+ years experience using UML tools
• Emphasis will be on a structured development process to meet DO-178B guidelines
• Experience using modern configuration management, problem reporting, and action item tracking tools.

 Leadership / Management

• Ability to work in a team environment with internal staff and customer representatives at various levels.
